- To act as a safety valve for those parents who feel that their situation might be getting beyond them.
- To offer support to any parent or carer whatever their problem might be.
- To foster public awareness of the emotional and physical difficulties in the raising of children.
Parent Lifeline gives parents the opportunity to talk about their difficulties however big or small and regardless of the age of the child. We hope that by offering parents understanding, sympathy and support, together with enough time to explore their feeling, they will feel better able to cope
with their situation. Parents are often unprepared for some of the negative aspects of having children – the emotional and physical strain which is experienced from time to time or the unexpected hostile and negative feelings one can have towards one’s child. Experiencing such feelings can lead to feelings of guilt, isolation and shame.
