Parent Lifeline is closing as of 30th November 2012. Unfortunately, the current economic climate has meant that we are no longer able to provide the quality of service we have been proud to give the community for many years.

If you are in need of support after 30th November 2012, please contact Parentline Plus on:
0808 800 2222

Parent Lifeline is a registered Charity based in Sheffield since January 1978.  We support Parents/Carers by offering:
  • Telephone Helpline 0114 2726575, open  9am - 1pm Mon - Fri (excluding bank holidays) 7pm - 11pm EVERY evening (including bank holidays)
  • Appointments to talk to a volunteer in our office
  • Free leaflets/Booklets to Parent/Carers

We offer emotional support and understanding to parents under stress of any kind, whatever the ages of their children. Parent Lifeline is not just a helpline for times of crisis, but for any time that a mother or father feels the need for someone to turn to and talk things over with a sympathetic listener.

We believe that asking for help is a sign of responsibility, not a mark of failure. We can often suggest further avenues of help if the caller wishes. Callers may wish to remain anonymous.

Testimonials

Caller on the helpline felt it helpful to talk to a fellow parent, who has the time to listen.

I felt like a weight had been lifted after being able to have a one-to-one meeting in your office.

It was nice to be able to attend the support group, to take time out for myself and speak to other parents.

The course for parents helped me evaluate and readjust the relationship with my children especially, but, has also had an impact (positive!) on all areas of family life.
